Museo del Traje (Av. De Juan de Herrera 2, Madrid) – this museum is devoted to fashion and costume design, which consists of over 160,000 pieces and documents, going as far back as the Middle Ages. The Museum of Costume, or Museo del Traje, was founded in 2004, although the history of its collections goes back to 1925. The Museum is located in a modern building, created by the architects Jaime López de Asiaín and Ángel Díaz Domínguez, and surrounded by magnificent gardens.

These collections are wide and varied, as they include historical, contemporary and traditional clothing, jewellery and accessories, and a vast amount of items related to our Ethnological Heritage. In addition, since its opening, the Museum has offered many temporary exhibitions dedicated to very different subjects, such as fashion, photography, toys. Some interesting examples of exhibitions offered are Genio y Figura, Modachrome, Mujeres de blanco, Trajes de novia (bridal gowns), In high fashion, The Condé Nast years, and Steichen.

Admission: €3 (free for those under 18, over 65, and the disabled & unemployed). Free admission for everyone on Saturdays (after 2:30 pm), and all day Sunday.
