La Via Láctea
La Via Láctea (Calle de Velarde 18, Madrid) – this two-level bar is a popular hangout for Madrid’s college students. The bar’s college feel is reinforced by its décor of vintage posters and customs mini-murals of popular rock bands. The musical format here is classic rock and funk (including some Motown tunes), and some more recent House music. The second level has another bar, as well as an old 1950s-style jukebox. Those wanting a place to sit are advised to show up before 1:00 am, since it gets packed after that time.
